This past weekend I was proud to be one of 400,000 concerned citizens participating in the People's Climate March that took place in New York City -- by far the biggest climate march in history.
The climate marchers included thousands of people from the faith community. I was with the Jewish community. We were joined by Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Unitarian Universalists and even Pagans and Atheists. Climate change is the moral issue of our time.
The People's Climate March sent a powerful message that it is time to transform to a low-carbon economy powered by clean energy. Saving our planet from climate catastrophe will not come from politicians, corporate CEOs or media execs. Change will come at the grassroots level. From the people. This is just the beginning. We will not stop until we change the system so it works for people and the planet.
